Every Man (and Woman) a Wildcat

Here I am getting ready for the game.

Living in Chicago I rarely (read next to never) get to attend any games at my alma-mater, K-State. So when my brother asked if I wanted to see a Kansas State basketball game while I was in town for Thanksgiving I jumped at the chance!

The game was in Kanasas City at the Sprint Center. While not exactly new to KC, I had never been to the Sprint Center before. It's impressive... a huge glassed in stadium right in the heart of downtown Kansas City.

It was a beautiful day and despite being the end of November, I needed just a light jacket. Crowds of purple-wearing K-State fans crowded the entrance. What a sight! I hadn't seen that many Wildcats in one place since college when we used to tailgate. It was a sight for sore eyes and made me a little nostalgic for college days. (Which sadly have LONG since passed...)

As we took our seats I was happy to see "Every Man a Wildcat" on the screen and a sea of purple and white.

The game was against IUPUI, which no one had ever heard of. We had to Google the school to figure out where they were from. (For those interested, IUPUI = Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis) We referred to the school as "ooey puey" until we figured out this out.

In any case, we ended up winning the game 70-57 and a good time was had by all. It wasn't a pretty win, and at one point my brother correctly noted that if we had been playing KU we would have been down by about 30 at the half. No way K-State can have a showing like that during conference play, but a win is a win. Fingers crossed they step up their game in the coming weeks and we beat those Jayhawks in January!

Go Cats!
